Cherie and this blog

Most photos seen here have come from my cellphone camera. I use an LG VX8300 with a 1.3 megapixel camera at 1280 x 960 resolution. Nothing too fancy, but it does an excellent job and allows me to share my view on the world. Enjoy!

I love the holidays

Thursday, November 02, 2006

I LOVE this time of the year! The crisp, cool nights. The somewhat cooler days (hey, I DO live in Hell Arizona after all. It only gets down so low...). The early nights. The roar of a fire, oh wait, that's the AC kicking on. Well, you get the point.

I wish it would snow here. I think that's the one thing I miss the most about living on the east coast. We got snow nearly every winter and sometimes, feet of the stuff. Of course, it's not so much fun when you're having to walk down a hill to the barn and jump up and down on the watering trough in a feeble and fruitless attempt to break through the ice so the horses can be watered. If I gloss over that part or the part about having to shovel our 1000 foot driveway, it was a super great place to be come the holiday season.

I'll be burning my holiday candles now. I tend to favor the spicy types like Pumpkin Pie, Apple Pie, Cinnamon, and the like. mmmm.. the memories these smells evoke! Egg nog is available in the stores again and mulling spices are easily found. Hot apple cider and a movie in the evening - such fun!

I love how the stores are decorated for Christmas. It makes them more cozy feeling. I love the street lights that are wrapped in twinkle lights and garlands and adorned with hanging oranaments.

Basically, I love this time of year. Now if it would just snow on Christmas, I'll be set!
