The UPS Store rant

[rant]
We got a mail box at the local UPS store because it's just around the corner and our local PO is staffed by morons with an attitude -- so UPS store seemed the best bet.
Until an order I placed with Nashville Wraps was "refused by recipient." I marched down to UPS and asked them what the dealio was. They said I didn't have the proper business name on the box and they didn't know and blah blah blah. Fine. I can accept that this was my fault. Name is on there correctly now so I go home and re-order (now I'm paying $7.50 shipping twice, but oh well.)
I see my order is supposed to be delivered last week but I'm away from home. I get back and ask DH where it is and he says that no boxes came. Ermm... huh? I check FedEx and see it's been refused by recipient yet again. WHAT?!
I call them up on Monday and the head cow, err, I mean the manager says that no one there can remember refusing it. Well, obviously you DID because FedEx is in the business of *delivering* packages, not sending them back and wasting their resources. When I told her this she came back with (and this is a real winner, folks) "we don't know that it was US who refused it."
After that mind-blowing comment I was at a loss for words for a moment. Then I told her that it wasn't delivered to PETSMART so it HAD to be someone there. Give me a break!
Then she asked, every so nastily -"well, what do you expect me to do about this?"
Umm... stop refusing my packages, stop acting like the mail box gestapo, and reimburse me for this shipping and the one I'll have to pay yet again!
Her: I will not do that. I refuse to do that. We will not give you one penny.
By time point I'm SO glad I am on the phone because if I was there in person, I would surely have jumped over the counter and throttled her.
Long story short - I re-ordered and it's coming to my home from now on. DH went in yesterday and the lady was cowering in the corner like he was going to go postal (haha!) on her. She managed to stammer out that they researched it more and what do you know? It looks like it WAS their fault this last time. (Gasp. Really?!) She'll reiumburse me 50% of that shipping cost - not any before, not any after.
No thanks. We're going back to the PO for a box. At this point I can't even go into the UPS store and look at that woman - it makes me too angry to think about it. She can keep her $3.75 to buy herself some customer service skills.
I'm SO going to be filing a complaint with UPS or the UPS Store HQ over this one!

Sprained my wrist
Tuesday, October 17, 2006
I'm an idiot. I was in Costco earlier today buying Over the Hedge (totally cute movie, definitely worth owning) and when we walked out, I felt like my wrist needed to "pop." It wouldn't so I shook it really hard a few dozen times and now I can't bend it, lift anything with that hand, or use it for anything other than typing. Guess I shouldn't have shook it so hard :derrr:
And it's my right hand, not like I need that for anything. I'm only right-handed after all.
I'm going to take a 2 mile walk. Then the burning legs will help me to forget how much my wrist hurts.
Well, that didn't help! Now I've got some nice shin splints to go with my aching wrist. Time for some new walking shoes!
I'm going to get myself some Crocs. I'v heard they are the best thing in the world if you're one to be standing on your feet alot or doing a good amount of walking. I'm a sandal kind of person and I'm thinking that Crocs are going to be great for me. No need for socks or shoelaces that cut off the circulation - your feet can breath all day with the holes they've provided and the slightly nubby bottoms will give them a nice massage.
Guess I got off on a tangent there... whoops.
