Pity Poor Me

Pity me. Please do. For I am in. Massive. Pain.
I woke up yesterday and my left wrist was throbbing like it's never ached before. Sharp, stabbing pains combined with the raw aching of the carpal tunnel. I was unable to even wash my hair with this hand so I slapped my wrist brace on and spent the remainder of the day trying to type (impossible!) and sucking down the extra strength pain relief.
Today is no better. Took the brace off to give myself a break for a few and wowee. That was a mistake. Within 30 seconds I managed to bend it just slightly the wrong way and the pain was like a lightning bolt down my wrist and into my forearm. Brace is back on now and my head is aching with the pain from my wrist (how is that even possible?).
I don't know how I'm going to get any work done. It's taken me 15 minutes just to type this post out as the brace keeps hitting the TAB and SHIFT keys. Oh, there it hit the OPTION key. Yeah, I can't code with this on - who knows the havoc that would cause!
This is one of the first times I've really missed having health insurance. If we did, I'd be at the Dr now finding out what's wrong with me and getting it fixed. Instead, I'll just be gritting my teeth and dealing with it until I'm back to normal.
So, pity me. Please. I deserve it!
Where I work - and my puppies (again)

I love my new Ikea desk. I blogged about this a few weeks back - we recently redid our office and to be honest, I actually like it for the first time since we moved to Arizona 2 1/2 years ago. That's a long time to be in an office that did little to inspire and was kind of a drag to be in. Cluttered and messy desks, blank, boring walls and no visual aids anywhere. Not anymore.
My new desk is actually clean (for me) and has a few of my more favorite things on it. I love fairies so I've got some art I still need to get framed and hung, but I do have one frame on my top shelf with one of my favorite prints in it. I also like to burn candles so I got some retro looking glass votive holders and I'm currently burning vanilla. Yum.
Yes, that is a box of Alka-Seltzer on the middle shelf. I get stressed so it's nice to have that on hand when it's needed. I'm using a PowerMac G5, dual-processor. Nice machine for being a bit over 2 years old! I've got some RAM in there but I could use some more. 3.5 gigs just isn't that much anymore.

This is our new inspiration corner. The room has a weird angle to it there so we painted it reddish pink to match the chair (and yes, the curtains match as well) and hung up our super cool retro Disneyland prints there. I collected those a few years ago and it's great to finally hang them up! We love Disneyland and go every January or February for a week. It's our time to recharge the batteries and return home rejuvenated and ready to once again push out awesome sites.
The chair is super comfy to sit in and provides a nice break area when I feel the need to get up and stretch.

And because I'm sure there are going to be some curious readers, here is a close-up of the prints. On this wall we have New Orleans Square (bottom), Adventureland (right), and Main Street USA (left). Pretty groovy, eh?

I could show you J's desk but he's threatened me with death if I do so. I guess he's working on something super top secret over there. Or something. You can get a peek though. He's in the kitchen getting something to drink...shhh...
Finally, look at my boys! They had baths earlier in the day and spent the next hour or so running up and down the hallway. After a bit I realized it was altogether too quiet out there so I peeked out the door and saw this. Super duper cute! This shot is taken around a corner and from up above, so excuse the weird angle of it. Joey is the one on the floor - Fritz is on the bed. They slept like this for an hour before they were up and running again.

It's so tough being a puppy!
