I know what your next thought is – “what about a phone call?” Here’s the thing: this business is just little old me. And I’m so busy that scheduling time for phone calls is a low priority. On top of that, I hate the phone with every fiber of my being. My husband was once away for 8 weeks for business and though I missed him terribly, I didn’t speak to him for even 5 minutes a day on the blasted thing. Instead, we kept in touch via email and IMs. So if I won’t even talk to my absent hubby, you’ll never get me on the phone. On top of this, I tend to forget what I’ve discussed with someone and then that wastes time as I’m forced to email back/forth to find out what I was supposed to be doing or what we’d discussed. With email, this isn’t an issue. I can simply pull up old emails and voila! My operating instructions are there plain as day.

So basically, all this to say the following: if you *must* talk to someone before you work with them or during the process, I’m afraid you’ll have to find a different designer. My clients will attest to the fact that I’m very speedy to return email and can handle everything effectively through that method. Email rocks!
