Oh dear. Just got my first BBB notification that a customer has complained.

Or wait. Did I?

Let’s examine the evidence, shall we?

Attn: Owner/Manager

Here with the Better Business Bureau notifies you that we have been filed a complaint (ID 53431050) from a customer of yours in regard to their dealership with you.

Please open the COMPLAINT REPORT below to obtain the details on this matter and suggest us about your opinion as soon as possible.

We are looking forward to your prompt reply.

Hmm.. something isn’t adding up here. In fact, nothing really makes sense. The entire first sentence is like something written in Swahili, translated into Pig Latin, then into Chinese before finally being translated into something that might possibly pass for English. And just what the heck does “dealership with you” mean anyway?

The “COMPLAINT REPORT” was a link. I will not be clicking on that since it obviously is leading anywhere but to the actual BBB website. I am however, quite anxious to “suggest us about my opinion” – although what that opinion is isn’t really fit for polite conversation.

I would suggest to these maroons that hiring someone fluent in the language they are attempting to scam someone in might get them a bit further than this dis-masterpiece ever will. They really think someone is going to fall for this? For real?

For me, I’m very happy to be BBB complaint free still.

Today I announced the launch of my new website: Banner Betty. This standalone site offers web banner design for every budget and every type of business (except adult-related, of course!).

I was sitting around a few weeks ago and had a brainstorm – Banner Betty. Catchy and fun! The perfect way to spin off a service into its own site where it’s quite simple and uncomplicated. Go to the site and buy a custom banner design. No need to wade through all the services I offer. Just pick your size(s) and order. Done-zo!

With this idea in mind and now that Banner Betty is done, I’ve got a few other such stand-alone sites in mind. And no, I won’t be sharing them until they’re ready. No point in showing my hand before I’ve got everything worked out. (wink)

I keep flip-flopping on whether or not I’ll do logos. Being someone who doesn’t like being told what to do, I find it very difficult to design logos as I’m pretty set in what I think the client should use and the feedback I receive isn’t always the most welcome. I always get over it but there is that moment of grumbling that someone didn’t immediately recognize the brilliance of my design and outlook and is requiring me to go in another direction. But hey, that covers most of graphic design and web design as well… and I manage to get over that just fine. So I’ll likely decide to move forward with logo work. Probably.

In the meantime, here is a logo that I designed recently.. both a mockup and the final version.

As it turned out, the design reminded the client too much of oranges so we went another direction and ended up with the clean and modern final logo below…
